Broken heart

“Grief weakens the heart and determination, & hurts the will; and nothing is more beloved to Shaytan than a sad believer”— Imaam Ibn Al-Qayyim
Don’t put a question mark where Allah puts a full stop. Say Alhumdulillah for everything and anything.

“How amazing is the affair of the believer. There is good for him in everything and that is for no one but the believer. If good times come his way, he expresses gratitude to Allah and that is good for him, and if hardship comes his way, he endures it patiently and that is better for him.” (Sahih Muslim)

"So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not deny Me.
O you who have believed, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allah is with the patient.
And do not say about those who are killed in the way of Allah , "They are dead." Rather, they are alive, but you perceive [it] not.
And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient,
Who, when disaster strikes them, say, "Indeed we belong to Allah , and indeed to Him we will return."
Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy. And it is those who are the [rightly] guided." (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:152-157)

"No Muslim is afflicted with any harm, even if it were the prick of a thorn, but that Allah expiates his sins because of it, as a tree sheds its leaves." (Sahih Bukhari)

May Allah grant us all patience.

“Dont talk about your riches in front of the poor,
dont talk about your good health in front of the sick,
dont talk about your power in front of the weak,
dont talk about the joys of your life in front of the sad ones,
dont talk about your freedom in front of the captivated,
dont talk about your children in front of those who cant have any,
and dont talk about your parents in front of the orphans, for their wounds cannot withstand more”
— Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him)

Abu ‘Uthman said, “The one who has patience is the one who has trained himself to handle difficulties.”

(Patience and Gratitude Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah p.12)

" Halal Is A Must! Not Just About What We Eat, But Also What We Wear And What We Love "

Imam Ibn Al-Jawzy said: “I had a problem that caused me great constant grief, and I thought hard escape this grief by anyway but in vain. Then I remembered this verse

{And whosoever fears Allâh and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty)} [Surat At-Talaq: 2];

{وَمَنْ يَتَّقِ اللَّهَ يَجْعَلْ لَهُ مَخْرَجًا} الطلاق: 2

Thereupon, I realized that fearing Allah is reason for getting out any grief. Then; when I began applying fearing Allah, I found the way for getting out …” (Sayd Al-Khatir: 153)

Words of wisdom from a great khalif!

Ali b. Abi Talib wrote to Salman Al-Farsi (radiallahu anhom)– saying:

"The likeness of this worldly life (dunya) is that of a snake: soft to the touch, it will kill you with its poison. So turn away from what impresses you of it, since what stays with you is so little.

And do not be concerned about it, since you are certain about its parting. And be most happy in it when you are most heedful of it; for every time its companion takes solace in one of its delights, it gives way to one of its woes."

(Ibn Abi Al-Dunya, Kitâb Al-Zuhd article 164)

"“With Istikhaarah (consulting your Creator before making a decision), there are no regrets or ‘mistakes.’ There are only lessons learned and moving on with life.”

—from the journal of Umm Zakiyyah

Broken hearts -- an opportunity for soul searching....

1. We need to realize that we are created only for Allah Most High. To have our hearts broken is a reminder that it is Allah Alone Who should be our objective in life.

2. Broken hearts is a test of our taqwa (God consciousness) to Allah Most High. Unless we are tested, we will not know if we truly and genuinely dedicate ourselves to Allah Most High, and if we are accepting His Qada and Qadr (divine decree).
3. Broken hearts bring depth and dimension to our Imaan (faith) and Taqwa, unless our hearts are broken, we won't understand genuinely what it is to have Imaan and Taqwa and Ikhlaas (sincerity).

4. Broken hearts tell us about our own character traits. It may be highly possible that we ourselves do not have good adab (etiquettes), and akhlaq (good character traits) towards others, such that our own flawed character traits make them flee from us and create the painful situation in our lives.

5. Broken hearts give us an opportunity to look honestly deep inside ourselves and realize our own bad adab and bad akhlaq and transform them into good adab and good akhlaq -- it is neither too early nor too late to fix ourselves.

6. Once we realize our own short comings what we need to do first and foremost is to make frequent dua to Allah Most High to mend our broken hearts and to help us fix our own selves -- "O Allah now that I realize I need to fix myself please help me to become a better person -- O Allah with Your help nothing is difficult, and without Your help nothing is easy.
